Platform Demonstration at Collier County EOC
Following up on its successful meetings in Washington, D.C., StormQuant recently participated in an engaging presentation to members of Senator Rick Scott’s Naples team, including Erin Dever, the Senator’s Senior Regional Director. The demonstration was held at Collier County’s state of the art Emergency Operations Center. It focused on the growing impact of StormQuant’s advanced weather radar and software platform on emergency management operations and public safety initiatives. The platform has quickly evolved into an invaluable resource for public protection and decision support.
Emergency Management Coordinator Jibey Asthappan, who had recently completed a refresher session with Howard Moore, StormQuant’s Chief Meteorologist, expertly guided Ms. Dever through the platform’s capabilities, data interpretation tools, and operational applications. StormQuant’s Weather Viewer has become an important part of the EOC’s operational toolkit.

A highlight of the presentation was a video showcasing StormQuant’s proprietary radar being installed atop the Enclave, the tallest building in Naples. The demonstration reinforced the compact, deployable nature of the equipment and its operational flexibility in the field.
Ms. Dever asked thoughtful and insightful questions throughout the discussion, particularly regarding communication challenges tied to severe weather and coastal impacts. One especially meaningful discussion centered on her observations regarding on-shore wind velocity and how that data could potentially improve storm surge messaging within the community — an important topic as agencies continue working to enhance public understanding and preparedness during tropical events.
An Important Investment in Emergency Preparedness and Public Safety

The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs from June 1 through November 30. In its 2026 forecast, AccuWeather is currently predicting 11–16 named storms and 4–7 hurricanes, with 2–4 potentially becoming major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher). The forecast also estimates 3–5 direct U.S. impacts. Coastal and inland communities alike may face hazards including storm surge, inland flooding from heavy rainfall, damaging winds, tornadoes, and dangerous rip currents.
Florida’s Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) partnered with StormQuant to make its weather monitoring platform available in locations such as Collier County. Florida’s investment in StormQuant’s weather radar hardware and advanced 3D imaging software provides emergency responders across the state with hyperlocal weather intelligence, including real-time true wind speed and directional data. The proprietary weather viewer workstation, coupled with a StormQuant radar installed on the Enclave tower, means that Collier County EOC has the most advanced tools available for weather detection and analysis.

Latest Software Update Boosts Performance and User Experience
“We don’t believe in the status quo — technology is not static, nor is software. We embrace this proposition. Our software and hardware capabilities will be different tomorrow than they are today.” — Edward Rossi, CEO
With the recent release of software update 1.5.45, StormQuant once again demonstrates its commitment to continual innovation and operational improvement. The latest update further expands user interface capabilities, including enhanced views of 3D differential reflectivity, true velocity, and L3 wind data. Advancements in rainfall imaging and alert optimization are expected to provide significant operational benefits for EOC personnel and emergency management professionals.
StormQuant’s adaptive technology continues to transform the way communities monitor, interpret, and respond to severe weather. We appreciate Senator Scott and his staff taking the time to learn more about StormQuant and the collaborative efforts underway across Florida to strengthen emergency management capabilities statewide.
