The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Ocala, Florida, has enhanced its weather monitoring capabilities with the installation of a state-of-the-art 3D Weather Viewer workstation from StormQuant.

Florida’s Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) partnered with StormQuant to make this weather monitoring platform available in Marion County. With the installation of the proprietary weather viewer workstation, coupled with a StormQuant radar installed on a nearby tower, the Marion County EOC has the most advanced tools available for weather detection and analysis.

The system installation was led by Rob Morris, Coordinator with the Division of Emergency Management in Marian County, with on-site training conducted by Howard Moore, StormQuant’s Chief Meteorologist. Mr. Moore demonstrated how the advanced weather view station, equipped with StormQuant’s patented software, provides unparalleled weather visualization and analysis tools. One of the standout features of the system is its ability to set alerts that can be email or texted directly to EOC personnel, ensuring faster response times and improved situational awareness.

Tristan Rizzi, StormQuant’s President, has been actively involved in the system rollouts at the EOC’s. “The phrase ‘game changer’ is the common response when a meteorologist sees the 3-D visualization and true directional wind velocity features.” said Mr. Rizzi. ”The more precise weather data will enable emergency managers to better target alert notifications, enhancing public safety during severe weather events” Precision and speed can mean the difference between life and death in a weather emergency.

The StormQuant platform, with its 3-D Radar & Software as Service (RSAAS), revolutionizes storm tracking and forecasting and is advancing Florida’s emergency weather response capabilities.
