A new milestone was reached in the Florida Division of Emergency Management collaboration with StormQuant to enhance the State’s emergency preparedness. Florida’s investment in StormQuant’s weather radar hardware and its 3-D imaging software will provide emergency responders with hyperlocal weather data including real-time true wind speed and direction.

Tristan Rizzi, StormQuant’s President, announced that this week the Emergency Operations Center in Flagler County received a new, high-speed work station preloaded with StormQuant’s latest version of its proprietary 3-D weather imaging software. Having this dedicated, highspeed access to StormQuant’s radar and software platform will significantly improve on-site weather forecasting capabilities at the Center and impact response times, especially during severe weather events.

The integration of StormQuant’s advanced weather forecasting tools into the EOC is expected to significantly enhance the team’s ability to assess and respond to severe weather conditions. With access to real-time, hyperlocal weather data, emergency responders can make more informed decisions, improving efficiency and ensuring they are well-equipped to manage crisis situations effectively.
Howard Moore, StormQuant’s Chief Meteorologist, was on site to oversee the installation and team training. “In an emergency, access to real-time weather data critical” said Mr. Moore. “With this latest upgrade, the Flagler County EOC is now at the leading edge of emergency preparedness.”
