StormQuant, the only advanced weather intelligence platform with real-time 3D visualization, is set to support the 45th Weather Squadron in its mission to provide precise and timely weather forecasting for all launch activities on the Eastern Range.

The 45th Weather Squadron has taken delivery of StormQuant’s advanced 3D weather viewer workstation. With its proprietary, state-of-the-art radar meshing software, StormQuant’s technology will assist in monitoring and assessing atmospheric conditions that could impact rocket launches, ensuring mission safety and success.

Early Partners In Advancing Radar Technology

The 45th Weather Squadron was the first U.S. government entity to team up with StormQuant. They recognized an opportunity for significant technological advancement in radar design and weather forecasting. StormQuant had assembled a unique team of software visionaries and radar designers who were poised to break new ground by integrating its innovative meshing software with a powerful, revolutionary compact radar. This collaboration underscores both organizations’ commitment to pioneering advancements in meteorological science. With 45th’s early support, StormQuant was able to reach an important milestone, installing its first commercial radar at Kennedy Space Center in 2021.

Enhancing Weather Intelligence For Launch Operations

As the primary weather authority for Space Launch Delta 45, the 45th Weather Squadron plays a critical role in evaluating launch conditions, from pre-flight planning to post-launch tracking. The StormQuant workstation’s real-time weather monitoring will assist the 45th WS with its predictive modeling and risk assessment. This will enhance decision-making at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) and Kennedy Space Center (KSC).

Key capabilities supporting the 45th Weather Squadron include trajectory weather monitoring that extends beyond the launch pad, analyzing weather conditions across the rocket’s ascent path. User-defined alerts can provide early warning of weather events that could threaten personnel and assets.

“The 45th Weather Squadron’s work is critical to national security and the success of space operations. StormQuant’s technology provides the squadron with enhanced forecasting capabilities, ensuring every mission is executed with precision and safety,” said Tristan Rizzi, Capt. SEAL, USN (Ret), StormQuant’s President.

Strengthening U.S. Space Force & National Security Missions

By supporting the 45th Weather Squadron with its workstations, StormQuant contributes to the broader mission of Space Launch Delta 45 and the U.S. Space Force, helping to protect assets, personnel, and the public. With its 2025 Data & AI Strategic Action Plan, the U.S. Space Force recognizes the importance of becoming more data-driven and AI-enabled.  In keeping with this, StormQuant’s unique, proprietary meshing technology can provide the foundational data necessary to unlock the potential of AI-driven weather forecasting and predictive analytics.

As the U.S. continues to expand its space operations—ranging from commercial satellite launches to classified military missions—StormQuant can help ensure that weather intelligence remains a strategic advantage.
